Seborrheic keratosis is a harmless and common skin growth. People with this unusual growth on their skin may be worried because it resembles skin cancer, warts, or precancerous skin growth (actinic keratosis). You can visit our dermatologist London for more information.

Who Gets This Disease?

People who are older or in their middle ages can get these growths. Seborrheic keratoses are often described as the ‘barnacles of ageing’ because they develop later in life with a wart-like appearance.

While it is possible to have only one of these growths, most people develop more! These growths may appear as a warty surface or clusters of warm, brown candle wax on the skin. Please see a dermatologist Harley Street London at Clearskin for a skin checkup if you notice any growth.

Seborrheic keratoses are not contagious and can be found anywhere on the skin except the soles and palms. Places where you would commonly find them are on the neck, head, back and chest. They differ in colour from white to black, with most being brown or tan.

At the Clearskin London, you’ll get to know more about this skin problem. Just plan a visit soon.
