What is PRP?

PRP is short for Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy.  The procedure involves using a product in your blood called platelet rich plasma and injecting it into the scalp.  Blood platelets and plasma contain natural growth factors which promote growth of the hair follicles and increased blood supply to the hair root thereby causing hair growth.

The process starts by taking a small sample of your blood. This is then spun in a centrifuge machine that separates the blood cells, serum and platelets.

The platelet rich plasma is then extracted and injected directly back into the areas of hair loss on the scalp.

The scalp then starts to repair itself and there is increased hair growth.

What conditions can PRP treat?

Thinning hair in men and women
